CUPE 3902 (representing contract teaching staff at the U of Toronto) wants to know what contract academics are REALLY passionate about! We are inviting contract academic workers (part-time and full-time) to show off their polished projects, their works-in-progress, their diamonds in the rough. We are open to pretty much any form or genre: Live performances: music, theatre, dance, etc. Canned performances: short films, new media demos, etc. More traditional scholarly presentations: short papers, lectures, etc. Free-standing pieces with no live human components at all: posters, small exhibits, etc. The point is to get as many of us as possible out of labs, libraries, and apartments and into a shared space to exchange ideas and inspiration. We want to highlight and celebrate the achievements of contract academic staff and demonstrate the rich and diverse expertise that we bring to our teaching and other work. This event will be open to the public and launch CUPE 3902’s #PrecariousSituation campaign. Contract academic staff wanting to present or perform should send a 250-word (maximum!) proposal to firstname.lastname@example.org by October 9, 2018. The event is open to the public, and all are welcome.
